In the beginning....

Ok, ladies and gentlemen... Here we go. I have started this blog to have a record of and share the adventures of what I like to call "CB Farms, Inc." among many other names.

A little background info...
"I was born a poor black child..." Just kidding!!! I have grown up around a wide variety of gardeners. When I was a young lad (not old now), I can remember spending at least one summer following my grandmother around as we planted all sorts of things, built new beds, and watched birds. Through my teenage years, I let most of the interest fall off (as most do I'm sure). But through the adventures of life, I have come to appreciate the little things and enjoy striving to learn about sustainable living. So here I am, I have started a career, bought a house, and gotten back to gardening and cridder watching. (I say cridders because I don't just watch birds) I do enjoy hunting (a key to my idea of sustainable living). I mainly hunt duck and deer but enjoy the pursuit of all game. I'm sure if something memorable happens on a hunt, I will post it. I will probably post about loads of other things from frustrations at work to my traveling adventures. I'm very opinionated and not afraid to voice it. If I offend you, oh well! I'm not going to apologize for it. I don't see the point. We all have the right to an opinion. But back to the topic at hand, I hope to post some neat pictures of "the farm" and cridders I encounter. I hope I can document my thoughts on how my plants are doing and responding to my care. Before long, my hope is that this will be a way to see myself grow in skill and knowledge of gardening and sustainable living.

More to come.
I am writing this first post on my iPad. As soon as I can get to a computer, I will try to give an overall update to this years garden with pictures. So we will all have somewhat of a starting point.

Enjoy!

Note: If I put something in parenthases, it is just a comment. A little side thought that I thought I'd throw in the mix. Also, I am no where close to an English major. I took those courses in college because I had to not because I wanted to do it. So if my grammar or spelling is off, deal with it. It will be okay.
