Magnificent Monterey Part 2

As stated in Part 1, Part 2 is dedicated to a Sea Otters nightly ritual. (I am not sure if this is a true ritual of the species, but it is so similar to a human ritual I will call it that.)

So when a lot of us get ready to retire for the evening, we clean up and get ready for bed. As does this Sea Otter it seems.

Beginning the bathing process.

I realized after taking about five or six pictures. This event was going to take some time. I, therefore, proceeded to video it with my own little commentary.

And for your viewing pleasure, I present "Bath of a Sea Otter" a crude independent film directed and produced by none other than..... ME. Staring Mr./Mrs. Sea Otter with the voice of .... ME.

After this continued for probably another 5 minutes. It decided to settle in for the evening on the dock.

Settling down on the dock for the nights rest.

After this, I started started to get cold. The wind blowing off the cool Pacific and Monterey Bay was getting to this Mississippi Boy. I turned in for the night as it seems most of the critters were doing as well. I have taken over a hundred pictures in my short four days here. Tomorrow I will be busy all day and head home on Friday. But I can say with reasonable confidence if this were my last excursion in Monterey, it was well worth it. And I can also say with great certainty, UNTIL NEXT TIME MONTEREY! I will definitely return here if I ever have the opportunity.
